See what you missed at Capacity Latam 2014.....

Capacity Latam 2014 brought together 434 delegates (a fantastic 15% growth from 2013) representing 147 companies and 24 different countries. Of the 147 companies in attendance, 62 were brand-new for 2014.

Highlights from 2014:

Unrivalled meeting and networking opportunities

The networking at the conference was dynamic and varied. Delegates made good use of our new online meeting planner, MeetME, and 648 meetings were requested using the service. Both drinks receptions, hosted by NEUTRONA NETWORKS and TELEFONICA GLOBAL SOLUTIONS respectively, were buzzing with atmosphere (and the odd Caipirinha). Plus the view from the exhibition area of Ipanema Beach was second to none!

Cutting-edge conference agenda

Inside the conference room, delegates benefitted from high-level, strategic insights into the state-of-play in the Latam wholesale market. Day one began with a keynote address from João Batista de Rezende, President of the Brazilian regulator, ANATEL who used the opportunity to push infrastructure sharing as a key objective for them, saying: “shared infrastructure has an important role in cost reduction and penetration growth”. He also focused on their negotiations with ANEL to make electrical infrastructure available for wholesale in Brazil.

Day two was kicked started with two dynamic keynote presentations. The first delivered by Alex Ingles, COO of BT GLOBAL SERVICE Latin America gave the audience a dramatic insight into the challenges that BT faced when preparing for 2012’s London Olympics. The second keynote was delivered by TELEFONICA GLOBAL SOLUTIONS’ new wholesale chief, Juan Revilla who gave unprecedented insight into their strategic trajectory in the coming years.
