Dave Mayo


Mr. Mayo is a Senior Vice President at T-Mobile USA, Inc.  Mr. Mayo has led the strategic, development and financial areas of the technical organization of this $30+ billion wireless operator over two decades of explosive growth.  He has planned and led numerous networks upgrade programs, including network modernization, LTE, 700MHz and the 600MHz rollouts, including plans to cover to 321 million Americans with LTE by the end of 2017.   Mayo has recently devised T-Mobile’s small cell rollout strategy.  Mayo has reengineered and reinvented the cost structure, led a joint venture covering more than 50 million Americans, negotiated key infrastructure agreements and led technical due diligence and integration of all significant acquisitions.  In his current capacity Mayo has business management responsibility for over $10 billion in annual capital and operating costs, developing and driving strategic network initiatives for the business.   Mayo is responsible for management of key vendor relationships, backhaul re-engineering and national development programs, such as T-Mobile’s tower business, which was sold for $2.4B in 2012 and 600/700MHz broadcaster relocation.   Over the last decade, Mayo has developed and executed several key strategies for the expansion of T-Mobile’s national footprint.

Prior to joining Western Wireless in 1996 (T-Mobile’s predecessor), he held management positions at US West New Vector Group and was the corporate controller of Flow International Corporation.   Mayo worked for Price Waterhouse from 1983 to 1988.  Mayo graduated from the University of Washington.
